What is drop and run?

Drop and run is a term used to describe a behavior in which individuals leave or abandon a task or responsibility that they were supposed to complete without notifying anyone or providing any information. This behavior can be detrimental in different situations, such as work, school, or personal relationships. For example, an employee who drops and runs might not complete their work, leaving their colleagues to pick up the slack, while a student might bail on a group project without warning, leaving their peers to scramble to finish the work. While drop and run might provide temporary relief for the individual who engages in the behavior, over time, it can erode trust and damage relationships.
